Freedom 251 may be scam.
Beware!!! before ringing the bell
The whole thing looks suspicious & may be a scam.
Consider these points carefully...
1. Ringing bell is a fairly new company, They earlier launched smart 101 handset at the price point of 2999. There're numerous complains about not receiving the handset even not a confirmation sms/email after making the full payment.
2.The review unit sent, was a Adcom Ikon 4, the Adcom logo was trying to hide using whitener also there's no app like Swatch Bharat/Woman saftey e.t.c. as mentioned. Only an Indian flag printed on the back of a Chinese iphone Knock off . Adcom has no clue about why thier mobile was used by Ringing bell for reviewing purpose.
3. It'll cost more to manufacture such a 3g smartphone with 4inch touch screen, quad core cpu, 1GB ram & 8GB onboard storage with dual cam. There's no direct confirmation from Government whether they are supporting this project by providing subsidy, So there's must be some hidden secret behind selling this mobile at loss.(@ only rs.251)
4. Ringing bell creates separate website for the freedom 251 that is freedom251.com . The website was failed to load properly from the early morning(6a.m.) may be due to high traffic. But it is clear that they didn't link Payment Gateway to their website. After filling up the Name & shipping details & clicking the PAY NOW button reloads the same page or redirects to the home page. Its a wise trick to fool the people & collecting their personal info & filling own database. Probably they will sell your personal info like Name/ mo. no/email to Telemarketers/spammers & make large profits.
5.Consider to order the device only if cash on delivery is available. The amount Rs. 251 may not be a big deal for you but think about the total amount paid by 10lakh(say) Indian i.e. 1000000*251= f***.
